Midwest Royal is...
Midwest Royal is the brainchild of song writer and musician Jonathan Rodebaugh. Through this outlet he brings his songs to life utilizing a collective of his favorite musicians, producers, and engineers. Jonathan believes that for songs to be their best, it takes a village. Midwest Royal is that village.
History
Jonathan's musical interest was birthed at a young age. He loved listening to his parents vinyl and was gifted his own record player at age 4. His first records were 45's of Prince's "Delirious" and Huey Lewis and the New's "The Heart of Rock and Roll." At age 8 he began playing the upright bass and later learned guitar. This is when he began to write songs. Jonathan has written songs and played in 13B, Safety In Numbers, The Boos, The Sanderlings, and The Foxtail Method.
The Sound
Jonathan believes that the song should dictate the creative process. Genre's are merely a marketing tool. Enjoying a wide range and eclectic taste in music, he doesn't shy away from allowing a song to be it's best even if that means it's a genre he is uncomfortable with or simply doesn't like. You will hear the diversity in the Midwest Royal catalog. This is something that really sets Midwest Royal apart from other artists.
